Moroccan cooking: Feqqas
Feqqas with walnuts and almonds.
Feqqas are very famous in Morocco and believe me, they are delicious!
What do you need:
200 gram flour
80 gram sugar
1 big egg
50 gram walnuts
50 gram almonds (peeled off)
1 little bag of vanilla sugar
1/2 coffespoon of baking powder
How to make it?
Heaten the oven on 180 degrees already.
Mix in a big bowl the egg with the sugar and vanilla sugar till you get a creamy mass.
Put the menged flour with the baking powder in it in the creamy mass and curl it around with a spoon. Then add the walnuts and almonds. Then till it is a creamy mass again take it out of the bowl and make it a ball with your hands. Then make a working place and put some flour on it, put the ball on that working place.
Roll the ball of dough till you get a shape like a sausage. Then put the 'sausage of dough' on a with baking paper covered baking plate, and put that into the oven. Let it bake for around 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take it out and let it cool down for around 15 minutes.
Cut the "sausage" after that with a sharp knife into slices of 2 centimeters.
Put the Feqqas again on the with baking paper covered baking plate and let it bake for about 10 minutes.
Turn the Feqqas and let them bake for about 5 more minutes.
Let them cool down again and then.... ENJOY :D
